Credit Cards, Reservations and Cancellations:
The Guardian We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Reservations will be confirmed only with a credit card. Special rates apply for longer stays and group bookings. (See Guest Rooms and Rates) Our rates include a full and BIG breakfast. We request that e-mail or telephone inquiries about reservations be confirmed promptly with a credit card since we cannot promise to hold a room indefinitely. Additional guests, older than age 13, staying in the Agnes Suite will generate an additional $7.00 breakfast charge per person. All charges are subject to a Maine lodging tax of 7%.

Cancellation and Minimum Stay:

If your plans change, we ask that you notify us at least 48 hours prior to the normal check-in time of 4:00 p.m., with the exception of minimum stay weekends. For example, if your reservation is for Friday evening, please call us by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and leave a message if we are unable to answer the phone.  (Neither we nor Bill Gates can promise that e-mail notices will make it through cyber-space in time to notify us of your changed plans.) Guests canceling with less than 48 hours notice will be liable for one night’s charge.

Please use the webervations service to make a reservation. The information and calendar on webervations are more up-to-date than those you can access by phone.

On the following three weekends we require a two day minimum stay: College Graduation Weekend, (normally the 2nd Saturday in May,) American Folk Festival (third weekend in August), Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend. Because Bangor becomes a major destination during these weekends, any cancellation at any time will be subject to a one night charge.

If a reservation is cancelled, in order to give the small staff extra treats to help with their disappointment, we will charge a $20 rebooking fee.

Check-in/Check-out Time:
With three rooms, we have successfully avoided the check-in and check-out madness. However, our staff is small and short (See Directions.); they need time to prepare your room. Although you are always welcome at Nonesuch Farm, normal check-in time is 4:00 p.m.  Guests who arrive earlier due to plane schedules, etc., are welcome to leave their luggage while they enjoy Bangor's amenities, which we will be happy to describe, or our gardens and our Jacob sheep.

Similarly, you are welcome to linger at Nonesuch Farm, enjoying coffee, the gardens, the newspaper and the sheep--if you still can--but that small, short staff must have access to your room by 11:00 a.m.

Pets:
Since we have so many farm animals, we ask that you enjoy our pets and leave yours at home.

Welcome Children, on the other hand:

ARE VERY WELCOME.

AND good guests:

Open, friendly people are always welcome.

Cots, cribs and futons:
We enjoy our guests who are children or just young at heart, but to create a new space for them is a tax on the short staff.  So we are passing along a once upon a visit "extra bed" fee of $10.00 for its set-up and the extra linen involved in more sleeping accommodations.

Extra Guests for Breakfast:
We are delighted to meet friends and families of our guests and to have them join us for breakfast. If you wish to invite someone to join you we need 24 hours notice. Due to the increased costs we charge $7 per person which is added to the invoice at check-out.

Smoking:
With apologies, it is not possible to allow you to smoke in the house.

Picnics:

Picnic tables, chairs and a charcoal grill are available in the gardens seasonally.

Laundry Facilities:

There are no guest laundry facilities at the farm any more..

Special Requests:
Please tell us about your food allergies, intolerances and dislikes. With notice we can accommodate. With notice we can also provide area transportation, a crib, and a roster of reliable sitters. We are building our guide to area restaurants with reviews. If there is an indigenous sport, you'd like to try, e.g. whitewater rafting, ask ahead and we will search for the information.
